Hitting The Reset Button: A PSA Reflection

Creating my recent PSA titled “It’s Okay to Hit the Reset Button” was both a creative and personal journey.

The message behind the video was simple but powerful:

  • Everyone needs a fresh start sometimes

  • It's okay to take a step back

  • Breathe

  • Begin again

In a world that constantly pushes us to keep going, I wanted to remind people that resetting doesn’t mean failure, it means growth.

I produced and edited the PSA using Adobe Premiere Pro, which gave me the tools to bring my vision to life. From selecting the right clips and audio to adjusting transitions and effects, I learned how much thought and detail goes into crafting a message that’s both clear and visually impactful. This Premiere Pro tutorial helped me get started, and taught me cool tricks to use and create effects on my PSA.

How I’ll Keep Growing

This project sparked a real interest in visual storytelling and I’m excited to keep building on these skills. This project pushed me to explore more of Premiere Pro's features, and it made me realize how much potential there is to grow.

  • Explore more motion graphics and animated titles

  • Practice color grading and transparency grids

  • Learn more about sound design for depth and clarity

Overall, this PSA reminded me not only of the importance of the message itself, but also of the value in learning new tools to express that message effectively.
